Lexington Sporting Club Names Sam Stockley as Interim Head Coach for Women's Super League Team

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Lexington Sporting Club has announced that Sam Stockley will serve as Interim Head Coach for the women's Super League team through the conclusion of the spring season.

Stockley, who has been with Lexington SC since 2021, has played a key role in shaping the club's development and competitive strategy. His experience as a former professional player and seasoned coach makes him well-equipped to guide the women's team as they prepare for their inaugural season in the USL Super League.

"We're grateful to have Sam step into this role at such an important time," said Lexington Sporting Club CEO Kim Shelton. "His experience and leadership will be invaluable as we continue building momentum for our women's program. We're excited for the season ahead."

Stockley's career has taken him across multiple levels of professional soccer, from English Football League clubs to the U.S. soccer landscape. As a player, he made 583 professional appearances, earning recognition for his leadership and versatility on the field. After transitioning into coaching, he mentored youth, collegiate, and professional players, serving in roles with Xavier University, Carolina RailHawks, and West Florida Flames, among others. His experience in talent development and club-building has been instrumental in Lexington SC's rapid growth.
