Lethbridge Slips Past ICE

The Lethbridge Hurricanes jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening period and never looked back Tuesday night as they knocked off the Winnipeg ICE by a 2-1 final.

The loss ended Winnipeg's season high 15 game winning streak and was their first loss of the season at home.

Tristan Zandee and Tyson Zimmer did the Lethbridge scoring while goaltender Harrison Meneghin made 36 saves.

Ty Nash had the lone Winnipeg goal, his ninth of the season, extending his personal goal scoring streak to three games. Conor Geekie had the lone assist. He now has points in seven straight games.

Mason Beaupit suffered the loss in net for the ICE stopping 37 shots.

The ICE went 0/3 on the power play while the Hurricanes were 1/5.

The two teams play again Wednesday night, 7:00 at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena.
