Brevard County Manatees News Release

The Manatees jersey auction closes at noon ET tomorrow (Wednesday). There is no guarantee you will get the jersey of your liking without placing a bid. After the auction closes and the season ends we will sell all remaining jerseys for the replacement cost. If you haven't bid on a jersey and are holding out hope that nobody will bid on the one you want, please understand that you're taking a risk. Besides other fans interested in the jersey you want, there are players that are also interested, hence, you may be out of luck, so get your bid - and a guarantee - submitted before it's too late!

Also, don't wait until the last second to submit a bid, especially by email. If the server is slow and your email gets stuck in no man's land, your bid may not be received until after the bidding closes. We will accept bids by email, fax or dropping off hard copies, but any bid received after noon time tomorrow will not be accepted. Please read the auction rules at www.bcmanatees.net.

In the PCL & FSL the Brewers affiliates (Nashville & Brevard County) face the NY Mets affiliates (New Orleans & St Lucie)

In the MWL and the PL the Brewers affiliates (West Virginia & Helena) face the Chicago White Sox affiliates (Hickory & Great Falls)

In the SL the Brewers affiliate (Huntsville) faces the Chicago Cubs affiliate (Tennessee)

Only four MLB teams do not currently have at least one affiliate in the MiLB playoffs: Boston, Florida, Pittsburgh and Washington. There are, however, a couple leagues that haven't ended their seasons and playoff berths are still up for grabs.

In the FSL all four playoff teams are NL affiliates: Sarasota (CIN), Clearwater (PHI), St Lucie (NYM) and Brevard County (MIL)

The Managers of three of the five Brewers affiliates in the playoffs have earned Manager of the year honors (Frank Kremblas, Nashville; Don Money, Huntsville, John Tamargo, Brevard County)

The Manatees home winning percentage this season was .638; the road winning percentage .438

The Manatees are 5-7 on the road on Tuesdays and only 3-8 at home on Wednesdays this season

The Manatees banged out a season-high 19 hits in one game against the Mets this season; the Mets also cracked out 18 hits against the Manatees, a season high for hits surrendered in one game for the Manatees

Manatees Manager John Tamargo used to manage the Mets

Mets Manager Frank Cacciatore used to be a rover in the Montreal Expos organization while the 'Spos utilized Space Coast Stadium for Spring Training

The Mets Trainer, Ruben Barrero, is a former Manatees Trainer

NY Mets GM Omar Minaya was the GM of the Montreal Expos the last season at Space Coast Stadium

The Mets won the 2006 FSL Championship; the Manatees have never won it (shared with Tampa in 2001 after playoffs cut short during the terrorist attacks on 9/11)

The Mets concessions cook their pretzels over fire on a grill; the Manatees pitchers will turn Mets batters into pretzels and cook 'em with fire for a thrill

Last season the Mets celebrated on our field and we had to watch, this season we'll celebrate on our field and return the favor.

See you at Tradition Field tonight.
