
Leslie, Gagne Named Players of the Week

DURHAM, NC - The Can-Am League's official statistician, PA-Sportsticker has selected New Jersey Jackals INF Myron Leslie and Quebec Capitales RHP Eric Gagne as the Teamline Direct Batter and Pitcher of the Week.
In seven games this past week, Leslie batted .429 with three home runs and seven runs driven in. He also scored eight runs, collected nine hits and had a slugging percentage of .857. In New Jersey's 6-3 win in game one of a doubleheader against New Hampshire Wednesday, Leslie went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. The Valrico, FL resident is currently hitting .317 with 10 home runs, 41 RBI and 58 hits. He is first in the Can-Am in on-base percentage (.439) and second in RBIs and runs scored (42).
Gagne had a terrific week going 1-0 with a 1.26 ERA in two starts. In 14 1/3 innings, the Canadian allowed only two earned runs on five hits and had nine strikeouts. In his 10-0 win over the Jackals in game one of a doubleheader Sunday, Gagne threw a two-hit complete game shutout. He carried a no-hitter into the final inning of the seven inning contest. After two singles, the game ended on a triple play.
