December 19, 2011 - NBA G League (G League)
Texas Legends News Release
Frisco, TX DEC. 18, 2011 - On the second night of a back to back the Texas Legends ran out of gas against the Austin Toros, falling 116-99.
Down 20 points at halftime the Legends came out in third firing on all cylinders narrowing the deficit to nine points at the quarters end, but there wasn't enough in the tank. The Toros pulled away in the fourth behind Soloman Bozeman who scored eight of his team high 21 points in the final quarter.
Dominique Johnson was explosive for the Legends scoring 21 points and grabbing 13 boards for his first double-double of the season. Anthony Vereen had a career night for the Legends registering a season best and team high 25 points against the Toros.
Without fresh legs, the Legends were only able to hit on two of 15 attempts from long range.
For the first time since the season opener, also against the Austin Toros, Booker Woodfox failed to score in double digits making four of 18 shots for nine total points.
Texas (2-8) will now attempt to defend their home court as they play four consecutive at Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco starting with the conference leading Los Angeles D-Fenders (8-4) on Wednesday at 7:00PM Central Standard Time.
