Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX (Oct. 24, 2014) - The Texas Legends are proud to announce the return of the Bank 2 Achieve Kid's Program, an initiative designed to increase financial literacy among children in North Dallas. The program returns for the fifth straight season and is presented by InTouch Credit Union. The program is designed to help kids understand how money works and the importance of smart money management.
We all want our children to leave the nest with good manners, good grades, and a healthy respect for their neighbors. However, have you stopped to think about the importance of teaching your children the basics of money management? According to a recent article on CNBC.com, communication about finances in the household is sometimes more of a one-time lecture in high school rather than a process that teaches them how to save and spend responsibly.
The Texas Legends and InTouch Credit Union have created a fun way to teach kids some basics of how to become financially literate.
"InTouch Credit Union has always put people in the community first" comments Donnie Nelson, General Manager for the Dallas Mavericks and Owner of the Texas Legends. "It's the InTouch Credit Union DNA to make sure every kid has the opportunity to learn good money management. They continue to invest in the kids in our community and we should all follow their example."
"InTouch Credit Union enthusiastically helps promote financial literacy throughout our community, but the Bank 2 Achieve program is particularly important to us as it has the ability to help young people avoid common pitfalls that can negatively affect money matters and financial experiences throughout their lifetime. We truly appreciate our wonderful relationship with the Texas Legends, and look forward to our joint effort at making this exciting educational opportunity for kids a great success," said Kent Lugrand, President and CEO of InTouch Credit Union.
Through the Bank 2 Achieve Program, kids can increase their financial literacy in a fun way by hanging out with Texas Legends Players and receive free tickets to an upcoming game for the entire family!
