League Match Moved Due to Real Salt Lake's Quest for Champions League Title

NEW YORK (Thursday, April 14, 2011) - Due to Real Salt Lake's bid to win the upcoming CONCACAF Champions League Final, the club's regular season match against visiting Philadelphia Union has been moved from April 23 to Saturday, Sept. 3 (9 p.m. ET at Rio Tinto Stadium). The two clubs mutually agreed to move the match and MLS approved the schedule change today.

On April 20 and 27, Real Salt Lake aim to become the first MLS club since 2000 to capture the region's club championship and be the first MLS club to participate in the prestigious, seven-team FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled for December in Japan. Real Salt Lake travel to face reigning Mexican League champion Monterrey next Wednesday, April 20 (10 p.m. ET on FOX Soccer and TeleFutura), in the first leg of the two-game, aggregate goals final, and then return home to Rio Tinto Stadium for the decisive second leg on April 27 (10 p.m. ET on FOX Soccer and TeleFutura).
