Rome Renegades News Release
ROME, Ga. â The National Indoor Football League has made the decision to add a franchise out of Dayton, Ohio to its teams. This addition creates new opportunities for the Rome Renegades and its 2005 season schedule. Home game dates will remain the same; however, some opponents and away dates are subject to change. An updated schedule will be released on Thursday, April 7.
The Dayton team was formerly of the UIFA. Their expulsion from this league left $66,000 worth of season ticket holders and another $120,000 corporate sponsorships excited about a season which was now in jeopardy of continuing. In a letter released to fans earlier today, NIFL president, Carolyn Shiver, stated, "NIFL team owners have band together to insure that the Dayton, Ohio families and members of the corporate community are not deprived of the great sport of indoor football that they paid for and that the UIFA was not concerned with giving them."
Many teams within the league are experiencing schedule changes, as are the Renegades. We ask for your patience and support as the Rome Renegades and the NIFL work to make indoor football a better sport nation wide.
