Florida Launch News Release
BOCA RATON, FL.- After starting off fast, leading 2-0, the Launch were overwhelmed by the Boston Cannons, fall 15-9.
Dylan Molloy led the attack with two goals and one assist on the night, while Kieran McArdle, Nick Mariano and Sergio Salcido all contributed two goals apiece. A game filled with penalties and sloppy play, the Launch could not take advantage of key man up opportunities. Turnovers and missed groundballs sealed the deal for the Launch attack entering the fourth quarter of play. On the defensive end, new Launch player who was drafted this year, Michael Rexrode, caused three turnovers in his first professional game.
The Launch aim to come back hard next weekend as the New York Lizards will be ready for battle. The Launch won both matchups with the Lizards last season.
QUOTES OF THE GAME
Coach Tom Mariano on key problems in the game: "We didn't play our game, with five or six failed clears that's more then we've had all year so we didn't do our job."
Dylan Molloy on offensive struggles: "We didn't move the ball fast enough and we have to be better and faster together."
PLAYERS OF NOTE
Steven Brooks - one goal, second place all-time in franchise history for goals scored
Dylan Molloy - two goals, one assist
OTHER NOTES
Next weekend, the Launch return to FAU Stadium and will be looking to rebound against the New York Lizards. Game time is set for 7:30PM.
