Florida Launch News Release
The Launch have acquired two 2017 draft picks in a trade with the Atlanta Blaze executed Sunday. The Launch receives a fourth-round pick in the collegiate draft next January as well as a second-round pick in next season's supplemental draft. In exchange, the Launch sends veteran midfielder Nicky Galasso and second-year man Joe Locascio to Atlanta.
A third-round pick out of the University of Maryland in the 2015 draft, Locascio appeared in three games for the Launch last season, totaling two points on one goal and one assist, both in victories over Charlotte.
Galasso, drafted out of Syracuse in 2015 as well, appeared in three games for the Launch, scoring a goal in a 16-12 victory over New York, and finished the season with two shots on goal.
Despite giving up two valuable midfielders to Atlanta, the Launch add additional draft picks for next season, where the team will look to replicate the success it had in this past season's drafts adding depth to the roster.
