Pulaski River Turtles News Release

In another thrilling game that saw the lead see-sawed back and forth, it was Burlington that pulled ahead to take a 8-5 win over Pulaski in the second game of the series. The Yankees fall to 9-7 on the season while the Royals improve to 12-6. Both teams face off in the series finale Monday night at 7 p.m. It is also Star Wars night and the first 350 fans get Lightsabers.

Burlington reliever David McKay picks up his first win of the season after pitching for two innings allowing two hits and an unearned run while walking two and striking out three and Royals' closer Walker Sheller picked up his second save of the season. Pulaski reliever Miles Chambers was tagged with his first loss of the season pitching for two innings allowing three runs on four hits while walking two and striking out four.

It was Pulaski that got on the board first plating two runs in the first. Estevan Florial drew a walk before Wilkerman Garcia singled. Florial came in on an RBI single from Isiah Gilliam while Garcia came in on a Tim Lynch ground out. However, that 2-0 lead was short-lived. Burlington cut the lead in half with a run in the second but pulled ahead with a pair in the third to go up 3-2.

In the fourth, Leonardo Molina led off by doubling to centerfield before Ben Ruta hit his first home run of the season to give the Yankees a 4-3 lead. But once again, Burlington tied the game with a run in the sixth. Both teams added runs in the seventh but the Royals busted the game open in the final two innings. In the eighth, Jonathan McCrazy tripled and scored on a wild pitch to put Burlington up 6-5. Then in the ninth, Chris Devito hit a two-run long ball to seal a 8-5 win for the Royals.
