BUCKS VS. UPCOMING OPPONENTS

CORPUS CHRISTI RAYZ · The Bucks are 9-2-0 versus the Rayz this year. In the last meeting Laredo rallied to beat Corpus Christi 7-3 at the LEC on 01/28. The Bucks are 17-67 (25.4 %) on the power play while the Corpus Christi Rayz are 6-80 (7.5 %) on the man advantage against Laredo. Last year the Bucks were 10-2-0 against the Rayz.

AUSTIN ICE BATS · The Bucks are 7-1-0 against the Ice Bats this year. In the last meeting the Bucks beat the Ice Bats 5-1 at the LEC on 02/03. The Bucks are 16-52 (30.8 %) on the power play against the Bats. Austin is 3-42 (7.1 %) versus Laredo on the man advantage. Last year Austin was 7-3-0 versus Laredo. The Ice Bats beat the Bucks in six games in the playoffs in the Southern Conference Finals.

PLAYOFF UPDATE

· The Bucks have clinched both a playoff berth and the Southeast Division title. The Bucks need eight points to clinch home ice throughout the Southern Conference playoffs and 19 points to clinch home ice advantage thru the entire CHL playoffs. These numbers will change based on wins by the Bucks and losses by the teams chasing them.

TOP OF THE HEAP

· The Bucks lead the CHL in the following categories:

Goals = 218

Assists = 381

Points = 599

Power Play Goals = 69

Short Handed Goals = 17

Total PIM = 1433 minutes

PIM Per Game = 28.10

Minors = 424

Power Play = 26.6 %

Penalty Kill = 90.1 %

Goals Per Game = 4.27

Goals Allowed Per Game = 2.25

17 TEAMS-ONE COMMON GOAL

· Every team in the CHL plays for the right to hoist the Ray Miron President's Cup trophy as playoff champions. The CHL announced on Tuesday that the President's Cup is going on tour around the league. The Cup will be in Laredo on March 13th when the Bucks close the regular season against the Austin Ice Bats at the LEC.

NO MORE STREAKING

· Forward Jeff Bes had his CHL season high 24-game point streak ended this past Friday night in Rio Grande Valley. Forward Chris Grenville also saw his 17-game point streak end in the same game.

LIGHTNING QUICK

· Research has turned up that the Bucks are the fastest team in CHL history to clinch a division title. The Bucks clinched both a playoff berth and the Southeast Division title in the 49th game of a 64-game schedule. The only team to clinch a playoff berth faster was the Fayetteville Force during the 1999-2000 CHL campaign. The Force clinched a playoff berth in game 46 of a 70-game schedule.

QUE PASA?

· Over the last three games the Bucks have had 11 power play chances while their opponents have had 33. Man advantage chances are three-to-one in favor of the opposition over this stretch.

THIRD TIME IS THE CHARM

· Forward James Hiebert recorded the third hat trick of the year for the Bucks in a 5-4 shootout win over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees on Saturday. Hiebert capped the hat trick with the game winning goal in the shootout. Forward Jeff Bes has put up the other two hat tricks this year for Laredo.

ONE MORE NEEDED

· Forward Jeff Bes has 99 points. He needs just one more to become the first player in Laredo Bucks history to reach 100 points in a season.

LEC SWEET LEC

· The Bucks are 24-1-1 at home this year and have outscored opponents 130-54 on home ice. The record for most wins at home in a CHL season is 29 by Oklahoma City in 1998-99. The Blazers played 35 games at home in a 70-game schedule that year. Laredo, who will play 32 homes games in a 64-game schedule, needs to win all six of their remaining home games to break the record.

BUCKS WEEKLY GAME RECAPS

Bucks goalie David Guerrera was spectacular as he stopped 52 of 53 shots to keep the Bucks in the game. The Bucks are 39-6-5 on the year, but they do get a point to improve their CHL best total to 83. The Bucks lead the season series with Rio Grande Valley 8-2-1. Guerrera was phenomenal stopping 52 shots thru regulation and overtime. Guerrera played a terrific game, but suffered a tough luck loss to drop to 23-3-2.
