Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, Texas â The Laredo Bucks tuned up for the 2003-04 CHL regular season by playing three preseason games last week. The Bucks finished 2-0-1 as they prepared for the second season in franchise history. Laredo starts the CHL regular season on the road tomorrow night in Corpus Christi. BAD BOYS PART DEUX
· In the Bucks final preseason game on Sunday they combined with the Austin Ice Bats for 10 fighting majors and engaged in a full line brawl in the third period. The teams totaled 210 combined penalty minutes.
HOME SWEET HOME
· Last year the Bucks posted the best home record in the league going 26-4-2 record at the Laredo Entertainment Center.
HOME SWEET HOME PART DEUX
· The Bucks won their final seven games of the year at the LEC, so they carry a home winning streak into this season. The Bucks last loss at home in the regular season was on February 11th by the score of 3-2 versus Austin. The Bucks franchise record in nine straight home wins.
GETTING A JUMP
· The Bucks scored the first goal in all three of their preseason games. Last year the Bucks were 28-4-2 when scoring the first goal.
FORMER BUCKS · Former Bucks forwards Eric Schneider and Dave Gove are currently with the Utah Grizzlies of the American Hockey League. Schneider has recorded two assist in two games while Gove has zero points in two games. Former Bucks defenseman Michel Periard has scored two goals and an assist in two games with the San Antonio Rampage in the AHL.
FIRST TIME
· This past Saturday night the Bucks played the first preseason home game at the LEC in franchise history. Over 5,600 fans turned out to watch the Bucks beat the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 2-1.

· 10/12/03 â SUNDAY â Sunday night the Laredo Bucks and the Austin Ice Bats combined for 10 fights as the Bucks slugged their way to a 4-2 win in Austin in Laredo's final preseason game. Bucks goalie David Guerrera stopped 43 of 45 Ice Bats shots to pick up the win. FINAL SCORE Laredo 4, Austin 2.

· 10/11/03 â SATURDAY â The Laredo Bucks rode the hot goaltending of Marco Emond to a 2-1 win over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at the Laredo Entertainment Center in front of 5,602 fans. Emond stopped 26 of 27 shots in his Bucks debut. FINAL SCORE Laredo 2, Rio Grande Valley 1.

· 10/09/03 â THURSDAY â The New Mexico Scorpions beat the Laredo Bucks 5-4 in a shootout at Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi on Thursday night. The Scorpions went 3-9 on the power play as they captured the opening preseason game for each team. FINAL SCORE New Mexico 5, Laredo 4 in a shootout.
