Rochester Lancers News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Lancers (9-13) will welcome the Wichita Wings (7-12) to the Blue Cross Arena for a pair of matches this week. The first of two matches against the Wings will take place on Thursday, February 23 beginning at 7:00 p.m. with the second game set to kick-off at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26 at the Blue Cross Arena.
The Lancers enter the week with a slim half game lead over the Syracuse Silver Knights in their drive for the second and final playoff spot in the Eastern Division. With the Baltimore Blast already clinching the division, either the Lancers or Silver Knights will emerge as the division's second postseason participant. Currently the Lancers' magic number rests at two games with Syracuse set to kick-off at 7:00 p.m. tonight when they host the Milwaukee Wave.
The first game of the Eastern Division Finals is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 10 at 7:35 p.m. at First Mariner Arena in Baltimore. Whoever was to clinch the second spot, either Rochester or Syracuse, would host Game Two on Monday, March 12 at 7:00 p.m. The Lancers hold the tie-breaker over Syracuse should the two teams finish the regular season with identical records. Rochester owns the tie-breaker on the basis of a three games to two advantage in the regular season series.
Individual game tickets are still available and start at $10 for adults, and children age 12 and under receive free entry for every regular season home game. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Blue Cross Arena box office, at most area Ticketmaster locations including the House of Guitars, the Auditorium Theatre and many Walmart stores.
