
Lancers Outshine Stars, 5-2

LINCOLN, NE - The Omaha Lancers outshined the Lincoln Stars on Tuesday night by a final score of 5-2.
In the first period, Michael Cameron (5:27) netted his fifth goal of the season to get the Lancers ahead 1-0.
In the second period, Nikolai Mayorov (9:51) netted a power-play goal to even the game 1-1. Later on in the middle frame, Michael Posma (19:23) scored his eighth goal of the year on the power play making the score 2-1.
In the final period, Ayrton Martino (6:37) netted his twelfth goal of the year on the power and was assisted by Ryan Lautenbach. Martino (8:39) struck again scoring his thirteenth goal of the year making the score 4-1. Late in the third, and on the penalty kill, Dominic James (17:57) scored to make the score 4-2. Lincoln pulled Aidan McCarthy for the extra attacker late in the game, but Owen Fowler (19:58) sent the puck into the empty net to get the Lancers the win for a final score of 5-2. Dobes stopped 22 of the 24 Stars shots on the night.
The Lancers are now 20-15-0-1 with 41 points and a spot at 2nd in the USHL Western Conference.
The Lancers and Stars are back in action on Friday, March 5th at Ralston Arena. The opening puck drop is set for 7:05 PM.
