 Fargo Force

Week 18 Preview

March 3, 2021 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Fargo Force News Release

The first place Fargo Force (21-11-2; 44pts.) are back on home ice this weekend for a two-game series vs their South Dakota rivals, the Sioux Falls Stampede.

This Friday will be the first time the Stampede and the Force have met since January 2nd. The Force have won 6/7 matchups with Sioux Falls so far this season, losing only once on Stampede home ice. Sioux Falls is playing hot right now fresh off a big 8-1 win over the second ranked Omaha Lancers. They come into this weekend's contest on a three-game winning streak and will look to exact some revenge over the Western Conference leading Fargo Force. The Force come into the weekend having split their games last weekend in Nebraska with a L to Tri-City and a 5-3 W over Lincoln. So far this season Fargo has outscored the Stampede 27-14, and they'll look to continue their winning ways against Sioux Falls this Friday and Saturday.

Tristan Broz (14G-20A-34P) is the current point leader for the Force. He's averaging .94 points per game and is ranked 9th in overall points in the USHL. Jeremy Davidson (10G-19A-29P) follows Broz on the point leader board. He's been a big player in the Force's offense all season and will be one to watch for this weekend. Matt Crasa (8G-9A-17P) and Tyler Rollwagen (7G-6A-13P) have put up three goals each against the Stampede so far this season, their aggressive style of play will be prevalent in this two-game series. Ryan Siedem (1G-22A-23P) is the current assist leader for Fargo and was recently named USHL Defenseman of the Week.

Garrett Pinoniemi (7G-22A-29P) and Michael Citara (12G-16A-28P) lead the Stampede in scoring. They're followed by Cole Sillnger (14G-11A-25P) who, in just 15 games since joining the team in mid-January, has racked up 14 goals and 11 assists, averaging 1.67 PPG. Sillinger has not been in the lineup against the Force yet this season, but he's played an important role in many of Sioux Fall's recent wins.

Following the games this weekend the Force host the Des Moines Buccaneers for a single game on Thursday the 11th at 7:05 PM, before traveling to Omaha and Sioux City on March 13 and 14.
