Lancer Players on Top at World Cup

(Rochester, NY) - The Indoor World Cup continues this week with Lancers players finding themselves advancing out of the group stage.

Brazil, led by Lancers Captain Mauricio Salles, defeated Team Canada last night in Flint, MI 7-4 in their second game of Group C. Salles had one goal and one assist in the win. With the victory, Brazil wins the group even in advance of their final group stage game tonight against Serbia at 8:30pm ET. Lancers Head Trainer Travis Johns and Assistant Coach John Berardicurti are with Team Brazil for the duration of the tournament as well.

Team USA, with Lancers goalkeeper Joey Kapinos and former Lancers defender Even McNeley, have also won their group. They defeated Kazakhstan 10-1 on Monday and last night secured Group A with a 9-3 victory over El Salvador in Ontario, CA. They play their final group stage match against the Czech Republic tonight in San Diego at 10:30pm ET.

Semi-finals and finals of the 2015 Indoor World Cup will be held this weekend at the Sears Center in Chicago. All games can be viewed live on ESPN3 or golivesportscast.com. For full tournament schedule and stats, visit http://wmfworldcup.pointstreaksites.com.
