Lancaster JetHawks News Release

(LANCASTER, CA) - The Lancaster JetHawks have released its schedule for the 2008 California League season, the 13th season of professional Minor League baseball in Lancaster. The season opens with a seven-game road trip beginning Thursday, April 3 at High Desert. The home opener will be Thursday, April 10 against the Lake Elsinore Storm. The season ends with another seven-game road trip, wrapping up Monday, September 1 in San Jose against the Giants. The 2008 campaign will mark the JetHawks second as a farm club of the Boston Red Sox.

"The league office has done a great job with the 2008 schedule," explained JetHawks general manager Brad Seymour. "This is the most balanced schedule we've had in years. They did a good job mixing up weekday homestands with weekends which makes it easier for our fans to come enjoy games throughout the season."

The schedule features plenty of games against the JetHawks biggest rivals. The two teams the JetHawks will play the most are the High Desert Mavericks and the Inland Empire 66ers, with 23 total meetings against each team. JetHawks fans will also see the Oakland A's affiliate, the Stockton Ports, seven times in 2008, more than in 2006 and 2007 combined. Only the Modesto Nuts and the San Jose Giants will make just one trip to Clear Channel Stadium.

The 2008 schedule includes several highlights, including a traditional home game to celebrate the Independence Day holiday on Friday, July 4. The JetHawks annual Independence Day Celebration has become an Antelope Valley tradition and usually sells out. More than 6,000 fans celebrate at Clear Channel Stadium each season.

Along with full season tickets, the Jet Pack, and the return of the highly popular new KB Pack ticket plans, the JetHawks will offer mini-plans that will allow fans to reserve specific seats for many of the JetHawks most popular events. 2008 JetHawks season tickets and mini-plans will go on sale Monday, September 24.

Home game times and specific gameday promotions for the 2008 season will be announced at a later date.

The JetHawks are currently in the middle of a three-game homestand against Modesto. Only 11 more home games will take place during the 2007 regular season before the JetHawks prepare for the 2007 California League playoffs.
