Lancaster JetHawks News Release
(ADELANTO, CA) - High Desert returned the favor against Lancaster Sunday afternoon. A day after a big JetHawks blowout, the Mavericks rocked Lancaster starter Leandro Cespedes for eleven runs in the first four innings and beat the JetHawks 13-2. It was still a solid road trip for Lancaster as the JetHawks come away having won three of the six contests.
The Mavericks took control early with a first inning run. The JetHawks tied it in the second with a solo home run by Matt Weston, but High Desert scored twice more in the second before exploding for five runs in the third. The JetHawks bullpen settled down the game starting in the fourth and allowed just two runs over the final four and 2/3 innings, but by then it was too late.
Craig Corrado had a big bounce-back game for Lancaster, whacking three doubles and four hits total. Brandon Barnes had his first hit as a JetHawk with a single in the eighth.
The JetHawks open their final homestand of the first half Monday night against the 66ers. Chad Wagler (2-1) will pitch for Lancaster against Inland Empire's Josh Wall (0-1). The game will begin at 7:00 with the Pre-Game Show kicking of the radio broadcast at 6:45 on Magic 1340 AM and online at JetHawks.com.
The JetHawks will return to the Hangar Monday, June 15 to open a three-game homestand against the Inland Empire 66ers.
