SANDY, Utah (Tuesday, June 1, 2010) - Real Salt Lake (6-3-1 in MLS play) will begin its "doubleheader" week in the Nation's Capital tomorrow, Wednesday, June 2, when the Claret-and-Cobalt will take on D.C. United (2-8-0) in a MLS Play-in qualifier for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Kick-off for tomorrow night's affair at RFK Stadium is set for 5:30 p.m. MT, and fans can follow the contest live online via a streaming video feed found on www.RealSaltLake.com and MLSsoccer.com or over the radio airwaves on KALL 700 Sports and www.KALL700Sports.com (English) (coverage begins with the America First Credit Union Pre-match Report at 4:30 p.m.).

The winner of tomorrow night's contest will move on to the Second Round (Round of 16) in the 2010 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, which will crown a national champion for the 97th time later this summer. The Second Round of the U.S. Open Cup is slated to be held on Tuesday, June 22.

Real Salt Lake took its first step towards qualification back on April 14, when the Utah side followed a wild 3-3 draw at the San Jose Earthquakes by claiming a 5-3 victory in penalty kicks. Real Salt Lake is looking to rewrite its history when it comes to U.S. Soccer's National Championship tournament, the Claret-and-Cobalt having gone just 3-5-1 between qualifying matches and the tournament proper in six seasons.
