Lakeland ThunderBolts News Release

Tampa, FL - On Saturday, January 15th members of the Lakeland Thunderbolts football team were on hand at Les Peter's Halfway House in Tampa, FL. Alton Walker a prospective receiver for the Thunderbolts works at the Halfway House and organized the event. Also on hand were potential players Jeremy Martin, Dewayne Galishaw, and Chris Robichaud just to name a few. As Les Peter's there are a variety of services committed to helping today's youth. Some of the services include general education, group counseling, and anger management. The players from the team spent time talking to the boys about what it takes to be a professional football player and encouraging them on a variety of issues. After a positive discussion at the Les Peter's house the Thunderbolts played the boys in an enjoyable flag football game. It was a memorable day for all and a good way for the Thunderbolts to show their support to the surrounding community. This is one of the first steps that the Lakeland Thunderbolts are taking in being positive force and role model for the community. The Thunderbolts will be appearing in more events like this one as the upcoming season approaches.
