LAKELAND- The Lakeland Thunderbolts (1-1) take on the Canton Legends this Sunday March 11 at the Lakeland Center. The game starts at 5pm, doors open at 4. Tickets start at $7.00.

Both teams are coming off a BYE week and are ready to play. "Coming off a BYE week, we've had an opportunity for he injured to heal, and a chance to work on timing," said Lakeland Head Coach Teddy Keaton. But Coach Keaton is not the only one who spent the week off concerned about health and healing of the players. "[Coming off a BYE week] the team is healthy. Keeping the players from getting injured has been the most important thing to us for the past two weeks. Lakeland's going to be our toughest test early in the season, so we need to keep them healthy," said Canton Head Coach Bobby Olive.

The 1-1 Thunderbolts are healthy and ready to go, as game day draws near. "This week's game is going to be a challenge with Canton quarterback Kevin Mason and DB JoJo Pole leading the League," commented Coach Keaton. The Lakeland offense is lead by quarterback Aso Pogi who has been impressive in his first two starts racking up 462 yards passing. Receiver Octavius Day is leading the team with 18 receptions and 4 touchdowns followed by A.J. Bennett who has 15 receptions and 5 touchdowns. "Our quarterback Aso Pogi is developing well with receivers Octavius Day, AJ Bennett and Don Robinson, all of which have three touchdowns, or more, a piece," Keaton said about his offense.

The Legends are coming into Lakeland 4-0, and they are the 2006 League Champions. "Our goal going into this game was to be 4-0, and my coaching staff and I are proud of that," said Canton Coach Bobby Olive. The Legends offense is lead by quarterback Kevin Mason (119-67-4) and Randall Love who has 28 receptions for 345 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Sunday's game will feature a halftime concert by Lakeland country singer J.C. Andersen, who will also be singing the National Anthem. Congratulations goes out to Emma Neloms, the winner of the Girls Night Out contest, sponsored by Woman to Woman Magazine. Emma and three friends have received 4 Luxury Box tickets to Sunday's game, a limo ride to the game provided by Felice Limousine Service and dinner after the game at Louie Mack's. There will also be a Health Fair on the main concourse as you enter the stadium. And it's Senior Night! Anyone 62+ gets a discounted ticket price.
