Lakeland ThunderBolts News Release

LAKELAND, Fla. – Centurion Sports Management, LLC, and team owner Dell Martin today announced the team name and head coach of their Lakeland, FL National Indoor Football League franchise.

The Lakeland ThunderBolts will take the field and begin play in the NIFL in March 2005 with head coach Kevin Bouis at the helm.

Bouis is a Tampa, FL native, attended Tampa Jesuit High School, the University of Texas El Paso, and the University of Kentucky. As a player, he won the IPFL Championship in 2000 and the NIFL Inaugural Championship in 2001 as a player/coach. In 2002, as an Assistant Coach/Defensive Coordinator he won the AF2 American Conference Championship and in 2004 won the AF2 League Championship with the Florida Firecats.

"We took our time looking for a head coach because we felt it was important to be sure we got the right man for the job," said Martin. "We're sure we've got our man."

CSM President, Tony Pewonski, also announced that season tickets sales would begin immediately with the team implementing a voucher system.

"When a fan calls in to buy season tickets, we'll be selling them a voucher numbered in the order in which we received their call," said Pewonski. "We'll then invite all of those voucher holders down to the Lakeland Center where they can pick out their seats and see for themselves where they'll be sitting."
