Lake Michigan Admirals Prepare to Close Season
March 27, 2012 - Premier Basketball League (PBL)
Lake Michigan Admirals News Release
St. Joseph, MI. - The Lake Michigan Admirals will reach a milestone that no other professional basketball team has done in southwest Michigan. In the last three years, the Admirals have played 68 games which surpasses the 1964-67 Twin City Sailors who played 53 games in three seasons in the NABL.
"I am so thankful for all of the support that southwest Michigan has given us. I remember going around and researching the area's history of professional sports and the Twin City Sailors were always mentioned in the communities conversations. Maybe in 40 years from now we will also be remembered as well," stated owner and general manager Chris Glisson.
The Admirals will finish their third full season on Saturday night at Lake Michigan Catholic at 6:00pm. There will only be one game this weekend. The April 1st game has been canceled by the Premier Basketball League because of playoffs. The April 1st game was only going to be played if the Admirals needed it because of playoffs, but since they were eliminated from the post season play, they have canceled the event.
