
LaForest, Long Tabbed Players of the Week

DURHAM, NC - PA-Sportsticker, the official statistician of the Can-Am League, has selected Quebec Capitales C/1B Pierre-Luc LaForest and Brockton Rox RHP Jeff Long as the Teamline Direct Batter and Pitcher of the Week.
This is the third Batter of the Week award this season for the Montebello, QC resident. LaForest batted .346 with four home runs, 12 RBI and 10 runs scored. He collected nine hits, including two doubles, along with a slugging percentage of .885 and a .433 on-base percentage. In the doubleheader sweep of the American Defenders of New Hampshire Sunday, LaForest went a combined 4-for-7 at the plate with two home runs, four RBI and five runs scored. On the season, the veteran is hitting .282 with 20 HR and 72 runs driven in.
Long tossed a complete game shutout in the 6-0 victory over the Worcester Tornadoes Friday. He allowed two walks and three hits while fanning three batters. The resident of Marietta, GA is currently 6-4 on the season with an earned run average of 3.56. Long is in the league's top 10 in ERA.
