Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) continues its three-game homestand on Sunday, August 25 against the Galaxy at Banc of California Stadium. The second and final regular season meeting between the two sides is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on FS1, ESPN 710 AM, and 980 AM "La Mera Mera'.
On Wednesday night, the Black & Gold extended their home unbeaten streak to 12 matches in 2019 after routing the San Jose Earthquakes 4-0 at a sold-out Banc of California Stadium. Goals from Diego Rossi, Carlos Vela (2) and Josh Perez gave the Club its league-best 19th win of the season, extending its lead atop the Western Conference standings to 19 points.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy come into the match after falling 2-1 in the semifinals of the Leagues Cup on Tuesday night against Liga MX side Cruz Azul. Last weekend, the Galaxy drew the Seattle Sounders FC 2-2 at Dignity Health Sports Park. With the tie, the team sits third in the Western Conference with a 13-11-2 (41 points) record.
LAFC is encouraging fans and supporters to support the Black & Gold by "blacking out' L.A. street-by-street and block-by-block while wearing LAFC black gear leading up to Sunday's match. Blackout LA kicked off on Thursday, with special LAFC discounts at iconic LA destinations. The complete event list can be found here.
