LA Riptide Release Event Schedule for Home Game on Saturday

CARSON, CALIFORNIA - Friday, June 29, 2007 - The Los Angeles Riptide of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) today announced the event schedule for their third home game of the 2007 season against the San Francisco Dragons, set for Saturday, June 30 at 5 p.m. at the Track & Field Complex at The Home Depot Center.
As part of Saturday's festivities, the Riptide will hold a pre-game ceremony for midfielder Graham Gill, offer fans the chance to "dunk" their opponent in the team's Dunk Tank, celebrate their current Western Conference lead with a Mascot Party, give away the second of two Riptide Player Cards and host a post-game party at Hennessey's Tavern in Manhattan Beach.
Just prior to the National Anthem at Saturday's game, the Riptide will honor midfielder Graham Gill, who received his Navy Wings during a ceremony in Corpus Christi, Texas on Friday to join the prestigious crew of United States Naval Aviators. Lieutenant JG Graham Gill, a 2005 graduate of the Naval Academy, will fly the P3 Orion out of Jacksonville, Florida.
At Saturday's game fans will have the chance to dunk an obnoxious San Francisco Dragons fan in the Riptide's first ever Dunk Tank. Lacrosse players hoping to get revenge on their coaches for all their hard practices or any fan looking to cool off on a hot summer day are also invited to give the Dunk Tank a try. Bring your lacrosse stick, because this tank will only be triggered by lacrosse balls.
Rippy, the Riptide's fun-loving mascot, has invited several of his friends to Saturday's game to have some fun and celebrate the team's current Western Conference lead.
The first 1,500 fans in attendance at Saturday's game will receive the second of two Riptide Player Cards. Saturday's card features Riptide defenseman Greg Bice, midfielders Graham Gill and Sean Lindsay, and attackman Michael Watson.
Following Saturday's game, fans are invited to meet their favorite members of the Riptide at Hennessey's Tavern in Manhattan Beach (313 Manhattan Beach Blvd., 310-546-4813) during the team's post-game party. Children accompanied by a parent/guardian are welcome to attend the event.
The Riptide are also offering Family Packs presented by the L.A. Zoo for Saturday's game. The packs include four Riptide tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and four passes to the LA Zoo starting at just $70. Upgrades are available.
