LOS ANGELES (Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021) - The LA Galaxy today announced that the club has acquired $300,000 in 2022 General Allocation Money (GAM) and $200,000 in 2023 GAM from the New England Revolution in exchange for midfielder Sebastian Lletget. Additionally, the Galaxy may receive up to $800,000 in future GAM based on Lletget's performance with New England.
"Sebastian has grown as a player and an ambassador for our organization during his seven seasons with the club," said LA Galaxy Head Coach Greg Vanney. "We'd like to thank Sebastian for everything he has given to the LA Galaxy and wish him the best in New England."
Acquired from English side West Ham United on May 8, 2015, Lletget notched 23 goals and 27 assists in 158 career regular-season appearances (131 starts) across seven seasons for the Galaxy (2015-21). The San Francisco, Calif., native tallied 30 goals and 28 assists in 177 games played (141 starts) across all competitions in his career with LA. Lletget's 154 regular-season appearances rank 13th all-time in club history.
During his time with the Galaxy, Lletget made 33 appearances (19 starts) and tallied eight goals and three assists for the U.S. Men's National Team. Last season, Lletget registered three goals and five assists in 26 appearances (21 starts) for the Galaxy in 2021, earning his first selection to the MLS All-Star game.
