LA Galaxy II vs. Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC

June 9, 2017 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
LA Galaxy II News Release

LOS ANGELES -- LA Galaxy II (2-7-2, 8 points) will host Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (4-5-5, 17 points) at 7:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, June 10 at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium. Tickets to the match are available for purchase here, and it will be streamed live and for free on LAGalaxy.com/2 .

Los Dos will be looking for their second win of the season at home; they've taken just one point from their last four matches at StubHub Center. LA will need a sharp turnaround in performance from what they saw in Seattle over the weekend, where they were shutout 3-0 in their second loss to the Sounders this season. The Galaxy would need a result Saturday at home to avoid their second three-game losing streak of 2017.

It's been an unfamiliar start to the season for Galaxy II, a team used to battling for pole position atop the USL. But the club has never seen Academy inclusion like this before, with six members of the LA Galaxy Academy having already made their professional debuts this season. Eight of the 14 contracted players with Los Dos were signed in 2017, a big-time offseason shuffle for the side.

Galaxy II have struggled defensively, allowing multi-goal games in seven of eleven matches this season while only putting in two multi-goal games themselves. Ethan Zubak and Justin Dhillon have been the biggest signs of hope for the Galaxy in the final third, leading the team with two goals apiece. Zubak is a particular bright spot at home, scoring or assisting in three of five games at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium this season.

Tickets to the match are still available for purchase here. Galaxy II will be hosting Cozmo's Birthday Party as part of the match, with free tacos, guest mascots and a video game truck all part of the celebration.
