The Los Angeles Galaxy (0-1-3, 3 pt. - 3rd Western Conference) have completed half of their league record eight game road trip and have only suffered one loss. Despite not having a win, Los Angeles has earned three out of a possible 12 points on the road through four games. This week, the Galaxy will get some needed rest as the club does not have a league matched scheduled for this Saturday marking the first time since March 28 and 29 that the club has had a free weekend. During the stretch, Los Angeles played six games in 22 days.

THE GALAXY SOCCER REPORT - WED AT 7PM: The Galaxy Soccer Report, hosted by Steven Cohen and Nick Geber, will feature special guest Galaxy goalkeeper Kevin Hartman on April 30, 2003. The Galaxy Soccer Report airs every Wednesday night from 7-8 pm on KMPC 1540 The Ticket throughout the Galaxy season.

JONES AND CALIFF CALLED UP FOR USA vs. MEXICO: L.A. Galaxy midfielder Cobi Jones and defender Danny Califf were named to the 18-man squad to face archrival and fellow World Cup finalists Mexico on Thursday, May 8 at Reliant Field in Houston. Kickoff for the match, which is being staged in conjunction with Major League Soccer and Houston Texans Entertainment, is set for 5 p.m. (PT) and will be broadcast live on ESPN2, Telemundo and the Radio Unica network. Fans can also follow live online via ussoccer.com's MatchTracker, presented by Philips Electronics.

The United States is continuing preparation for participation in two major tournaments this summer. In June the U.S. will square off against Brazil, Cameroon and Turkey in the FIFA Confederations Cup from June 18-29 in France, and the USA will defend its Confederation championship in the 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup to be held from July 12-27 in Boston, Miami and Mexico City.

DEFENDER TYRONE MARSHALL JOINS JAMAICAN NATIONAL TEAM: L.A. Galaxy defender Tyrone Marshall left last Saturday night on a flight for South Africa. Marshall will join the national team in preparation for its next international friendly tonight in Cape Town, South Africa

L.A. GALAXY TO PLAY EXHIBITION MATCH VS. MILWAUKEE WAVE ON MAY 18: The Los Angeles Galaxy will take on the Milwaukee Wave United of the A-League in an exhibition game on Sunday, May 18, at 2:05 pm (PT) during their opening weekend at Uihlein Soccer Park. It's the first time that head coach Sigi Schmid and the Galaxy will be making an appearance in Milwaukee. Former Milwaukee Rampage goalkeeper Dan Popik, a new addition to the Galaxy in 2003, will make his first trip back to the city where he won an A-League championship with the Rampage in 2002.

GALAXY TO PLAY IN THE WORLD PEACE KING CUP: The L.A. Galaxy will participate in the inaugural World Peace King Cup tournament, which will be held July 15 through July 22 in Seoul, South Korea. A collection of the finest clubs from around the globe have been assembled for the tournament, including the L.A. Galaxy, Germany's Bayer Leverkusen, Italy's AS Roma, France's Olympique de Lyon, Holland's PSV Eindhoven, Brazil's Sao Paulo, South Africa's Kaizer Chiefs and South Korea's Seongnam Ilwha. The international field includes four teams from Europe, and one each from Africa, Asia, North America and South America. The World Peace King Cup, a biennial tournament, features eight (8) clubs from around the world divided into two (2) groups of four (4), to be established in a seeded draw. Each participating club will play three (3) games during the group stage, with the winners from each group advancing to meet in the Finals. The club, which captures the World Peace King Cup, wins a prize of $2,000,000 while the runners-up receive $500,000.
