Los Angeles Avengers News Release

LOS ANGELES -- In preparation for their rapidly approaching 2004 season, the Los Angeles Avengers have reorganized their management team, shifting additional duties to two executives and rewarding them with new titles. The changes give the franchise added structure, strength and flexibility as the Avengers continue to strive for excellence within the Arena Football League.

Greg Campbell, who oversaw all of the financial aspects of the franchise for the previous two seasons, has been given the added responsibility of leading the Avenger operations department. He will manage all game-night operations for Avenger home games at STAPLES Center, serve as the team's primary liaison with the arena and oversee the Avenger Training Facility in Culver City. Campbell's new title is vice president of operations, which was previously held by Bob Flynn, who recently left the Avengers to pursue other opportunities in professional football.

Lou Rosenberg, who joined the Avengers two years ago as director of ticket sales, has been put at the helm of the team's marketing department as well. In addition to managing a sales staff that includes seven account executives on a day-to-day basis, he also will coordinate marketing and promotional efforts surrounding ticket sales and oversee all areas associated to game-day entertainment. Rosenberg's new title is vice president of sales & marketing.

Both personnel moves are effective immediately.

"This is a natural progression for us that will help the franchise grow in a number of ways," said Avenger president and chief operating officer Todd Merkow, who is about to begin his third full season at the helm of the franchise. "Greg Campbell has a tremendous operations background in pro sports, which will serve us well. Lou Rosenberg has done a great job, invigorating our sales department, which will continue to grow while he manages the marketing efforts."

Campbell, 43, has 15 years of professional sports experience. Before starting with the Avengers, he spent 2001 as the finance director for the Los Angeles Xtreme of the XFL, where he was instrumental in developing the administrative structure of the team's operations. Along with his financial and administrative duties, Campbell was involved in the sponsorship and ticketing plans that shaped the Xtreme's overall marketing package.

Prior to the Xtreme, Campbell was the controller for the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers and served as the vice president of finance with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. Throughout his career, Campbell has specialized in defining revenue streams and maintaining expenditures.

Rosenberg, 40, has been involved with sports marketing in the Southern California area since 1989, when he started with the Los Angeles Clippers. In seven years with the Clippers, he held the titles of director of promotions, director of game operations, and director of corporate marketing.

Prior to joining the Avengers in December of 2001, Rosenberg was the director of ticket sales for the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup, which was the largest attended women's sporting event in history. He also served as the vice president of sales & marketing for the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the International Hockey League, overseeing the launch of the team into the Long Beach market.

In 2002, Rosenberg's first season with the Avengers, he and his staff accomplished a 62 percent increase in ticket sales over the previous season. Last year, they followed up with another strong effort, drawing an average of 13,220 fans to each regular-season home game at STAPLES Center.

The Avengers kick off their 2004 season on Sunday, Feb. 8, when they travel to Phoenix to take on the Arizona Rattlers at America West Arena. Game time is set for noon (Pacific) and the contest will be televised live on KNBC Channel 4. After another road game on Valentine's Day against the Las Vegas Gladiators, the Avengers will play their home opener at STAPLES Center on Sunday, Feb. 22, versus the San Jose SaberCats.

Season tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by calling 1-888-AVENGERS or online at www.laavengers.com.
