Kyle Edwards Named to USL Championship Team of the Week

June 20, 2023 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Hartford Athletic News Release

Kyle Edwards has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 15. This is Edwards' first Team of the Week selection, and Hartford's fifth of the 2023 season. He joins Prince Saydee (Weeks 1, 6, and 8) and Matt Sheldon (Week 4).

In a two-game week for Hartford, Edwards was active in the final third. He took four shots, created two chances, and found the back of the net twice against Charleston on Saturday. He did well to put himself in a goalscoring position when headed in a rebound after Edgardo Rito's shot hit the post and bounced in front of the goal line, giving Hartford a 2-1 lead before the half. 10 minutes later, he confidently converted his third penalty kick of the season early in the second 45 minutes.
