KXXY Joins Yard Dawgz Huddle

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz of the Arena Football League announced today a partnership with KXY 96.1 FM to broadcast the entire Yard Dawgz schedule. Games can also be heard via the internet at kxy.com.

"We are extremely pleased to announce KXXY and your Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz have teamed up as broadcast partners for the 2010 season," General Manager Christie Cook explained. "As we made the move to the AFL, one of our goals was to provide our fans with a quality game broadcast on a well known station with a strong signal. This mission has been accomplished by making KXXY our flagship station!"

The Yard Dawgz will utilize Brandon Rush as the play-by-play announcer for all sixteen regular season games. Rush enters his fourth season with the team. He has also covered Oklahoma high school sports as a play-by-play voice as well as 13 state championship games. Rush has covered the NBA, MLB, college football and basketball for Fox Sports Radio, ESPN Radio, Associated Press Radio, Sporting News Radio, and PA-Sportsticker.

"KXXY is excited to be the radio home for the Yard Dawgz and the new venture with the AFL," said Tom Travis, Director of Programming Clear Channel Oklahoma City. "You'll be able to hear Yard Dawgz football from Clinton to Okemah and Enid to the Arbuckle's!"

The Yard Dawgz begin their seventh season overall and their first season in the Arena Football League along with 14 other cities including Dallas, Orlando, Tampa Bay and Cleveland. The NFL Network will air a game of the week each Friday beginning April 2, 2010.
