Kuster and Beaudry return for another season

Austin Ice Bats News Release
(Austin, TX) -- The Austin Ice Bats of the Central Hockey League have locked up their captain and top goaltender from last season for one more year. Henry Kuster scored 26 goals and had 30 assists in his first season with Austin. He also served as the team's captain as well. "He's a long veteran in the league, and brings a lot of added qualities to our team in the leadership department. He's a proven goal scorer. When I came in he played well for me," said Brent Hughes, Ice Bats head coach. Kuster is one of four CHL veterans who will be back with the Ice Bats this season. Kuster has also spent time with Tulsa, Amarillo, and San Antonio before coming to Austin. "I'm glad to sign back with the Ice Bats this season. I'm hoping we can get some much needed improvement as it was a disappointment last season. I'm also looking forward to playing under Coach Hughes for another year," said Kuster.
Miguel Beaudry will be between the pipes for the third straight year for the Ice Bats. In 2005-2006, Beaudry recorded a 2.83 GAA and 3.00 in 2006-2007. "Beaudry was one of my best players when I came in last year. I've wanted him back since I saw him. You build a hockey club from the goal out so he's definitely a great asset," chimes Coach Hughes. Prior to coming to Austin, Beaudry spent three years elsewhere around the Central Hockey League with New Mexico and Memphis. "I've been here for two years now and I feel comfortable. I love the surroundings. I'm excited about what Coach Hughes had to say about this season. I think we can do something pretty good this year, from what coach has been telling us," commented Beaudry.
The Ice Bats are getting ready to begin their 12th season in Austin. The 2007-2008 campaign begins in October, but season ticket packages are already available. Call (512) 927-PUCK (7825) for more information.
