
Kurt Rocco Named AFL National Guard MVP of the Week

NEW ORLEANS (April 5, 2012) - New Orleans VooDoo QB Kurt Rocco has been named National Guard MVP of the Week for his performance in Week 4 of the 2012 AFL season, as voted on by fans, announced the League office on Thursday afternoon.
Rocco (6-5, 230, Mount Union) received 51 percent of the fans' votes on ArenaFootball.com after setting new franchise records with 9 passing touchdowns and 373 passing yards in the VooDoo's victory over the Utah Blaze, 72-57. The 373 yards passing and 9 passing touchdowns were also new career highs for Rocco.
Other candidates for the award included Jacksonville Sharks WR/DB Terrance Smith and Cleveland Gladiators WR Dominick Goodman.
The VooDoo (1-2) host the Tampa Bay Storm (2-1) on "NET10 Arena Football Friday" live on NFL Network this Friday, April 6. Rocco and the VooDoo will be looking for the team's first home win since 2008. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.
