Philadelphia Charge News Release
VILLANOVA, PA (July 9, 2002) - The Philadelphia Charge agreed to terms with forward Tara Koleski on Tuesday.
Koleski spent last season and part of this year with the San Diego Spirit before being waived on June 10. In 2001 she appeared in 19 games, including nine starts, and scored four goals with three assists for 11 points in 962 minutes of action. She made the most of her final six starts, tallying a team-high four-game goal scoring streak and a five-game point streak to close out the year.
This year she appeared in three games, all as a reserve, and did not record a point. She missed the first three games of the season due to off-season arthroscopic knee surgery.
The 24-year-old Phoenix, Arizona native attended the University of Portland from 1996-99 and finished her career as the seventh all-time leading scorer in school history with 77 points. She scored 30 goals during her time at Portland, earning First-Team All-WCC honors from '96-'98 and was a NSCAA All-American in her final season. Prior to joining the WUSA, she played for F.C. Saarbrucken in Germany.
