
Knights Sign Two for 2018 Season

The Corvallis Knights have signed UC Santa Barbara redshirt freshman pitcher Jack Dashwood and Utah junior outfielder Chandler Anderson for the 2018 season, coach Brooke Knight announced Friday.
Dashwood is a 6-foot-6 left-hander from St. Augustine High School in San Diego. He was 2-6, 5.27 in 11 starts and 12 appearances for the Gauchos in 2018, with 34 strikeouts in 54.2 innings.
He was 6-2 with a 1.03 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 61 innings as a high school senior in 2016 and earned first-team all-league, first-team all-CIF and second-team all-state honors in 2015 and 2016. He used a medical redshirt at UCSB in 2017.
Anderson is a 6-3, 205-pounder from Park City HS in Park City, Utah. He was hitting .233 in 42 games, with a homer and 18 RBIs, heading into Utah's season-ending series at Washington State.
He played in 76 games as a freshman and sophomore, with a .308 career batting average and one Pac-12 Player of the Week award. He was also a second-team all-academic pick in 2017. He was a three-time 3A all-state player and a two-time USA Today all-Utah selection at Park City.
The Knights open the 2018 season on Wednesday with their annual Science, Engineering & Art Day game against the Portland Sea Dogs at Goss Stadium. They open the WCL season at Kelowna on June 6.
