Corvallis Knights News Release
The Corvallis Knights have signed Oregon State redshirt senior starter/reliever Taylor Starr for the balance of the season.
Starr was recently granted a medical hardship and another year of eligibility. He missed virtually the entire 2009, 2010 and 2011 school and summer seasons while recovering from two Tommy John surgeries and another operation on his ulnar nerve.
A native of Longview, Wash., and a graduate of Kelso High School, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound right-hander first played for the Knights on their 2008 West Coast League championship team. He was a first-team WCL all-star and went 1-2, with a 2.49 ERA, a then team-record 10 saves, and 28 strikeouts in 25.1 innings over 21 appearances.
Starr was 5-2 with a 4.37 ERA for the Beavers in 2012. He will join OSU teammates Nate Esposito and Carlos Rodriguez on the Knights. All three became eligible for summer ball on Friday with the conclusion of OSU's spring term.
