Corvallis Knights News Release
Corvallis, Ore. - The Corvallis Knights have signed Pacific University pitcher Chance Wallace to a 10-day contract, coach Brooke Knight announced Friday.
Wallace is a 5-foot-11, 182-pound redshirt freshman lefty from Sunset High School in Beaverton. He is a prospective business marketing major.
He has not yet pitched for the Boxers this spring. He was 0-0, 4.91 in his lone appearance in 2022, with six strikeouts in 3.2 innings before an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
Wallace starred at Sunset and pitched for the North team in the 2021 Oregon All-Star Series at Goss Stadium.
A Los Angeles Dodgers fan who likes to golf in his free time, his favorites are The Dark Knight (movie), Criminal Minds (TV show) and The Martian (book).
Ten-day players are added at the start of the season to give the team depth until all the full-time signees arrive. They can remain with the club for the entire season.
Corvallis opens the 2023 season on May 25 with the annual Science, Engineering & Art Day at Goss Stadium, presented by Paventy & Brown Orthodontics.
The Knights begin their quest for a seventh-straight WCL championship against the host Ridgefield Raptors on June 2. Their home opener is set for June 15 against the Bend Elks.
