
Knights sign Granger, Mahle

Corvallis Knights News Release
The Corvallis Knights of the West Coast League have signed freshmen right-handed pitchers Bryan Granger of Cal Poly and Greg Mahle of UC Santa Barbara for the 2012 season.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Granger played at San Benito High in Hollister, Calif. He was 5-1 with a 2.72 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 64.1 innings as a senior after going 6-2, 1.52 as a junior.
Mahle is a native of Westminster, Calif., and graduated from Westminster High School in 2011. The 6-2, 220-pounder was 5-2 with a 0.70 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 50 innings as a senior.
His pitching coach at UCSB is Jason Hawkins, the Knights' pitching coach in their 2008 WCL championship season. UCSB's head coach is former Oregon State star/Knights pitching coach Andrew Checketts.
The defending WCL champions, the Knights will open their 2012 season at Walla Walla on June 1. Their home opener is June 6 against Klamath Falls.
