Macon Knights News Release

MACON, Ga. - The Macon Knights front office announced today that Knights Head Coach Derek Stingley and the Knights Mascot will be making an appearance at the annual Totes for Tots suitcase drive.

The Totes for Tots suitcase drive is presented by the Georgia Cancer Specialists and is a state-wide event. The Knights will be attending the Macon Coliseum location to help support foster children around the state of Georgia. The suitcase drive is on Monday, January 16th, 2006 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, and will be at 308 Coliseum Drive (Coliseum Hospital).

"This is the second year the Knights have been involved with the Totes for Tots program. This charity is a great cause and helps foster children obtain the things they need," said Matthew Eubanks Public Relations for the Macon Knights.

The Knights will also be unveiling their new mascot, which will replace Maximus as the sideline and off-field image of the Knights.

About Totes For Tots: This is the fourth annual Totes for Tots suitcase drive to benefit Georgia's 15,000 foster children. The drive was started because many foster children endure frequent and forced relocations and many do not have proper bags to carry their clothes and schoolbooks from home to home. The Georgia Cancer Specialists open their doors, on a scheduled day off for the company for the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, to give back to the community every year. With the help from the Middle Georgia area Totes for Tots has collected and distributed 4,300 totes to county DFCS offices throughout Georgia since 2003.

The Knights Season kicks off on April 8th against the Albany Conquest. Don't miss the eight action-packed home games this season as the Knights try to bring the ArenaCup Championship to Macon. Season Tickets are on sale now starting as low as $56. For more information call the Knights ticket office at (478) 314-3000 or visit the website at www.MaconKnights.com.
