
Knighthawks To Host Draft Party At Stock Exchange Restaurant

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Knighthawks announced today that the team will hold a 2009 National Lacrosse League Draft Party on Wednesday, September 9th at the Stock Exchange Restaurant, which is located on the first floor of the First Federal Building on Main Street. From 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., fans can meet players, dance team members and the Knighthawks staff.
Prior to the draft, fans can get autographs from Knighthawks Joe Walters, Peter Jacobs and Logan Kane, and members of the Knightingales dance team. Fans can also pick up a special Sid Smith No. 1 Draft Pick poster by making a donation to the Knighthawks/Amerks Charitable Foundation, Inc. In addition, the K-Hawks will raffle off prizes and show the 2007 Championship Game on a big screen TV.
At 7:00 p.m., the Knighthawks will post the first two rounds of picks on another big screen as they receive results from the NLL Entry Draft at HSBC Arena in Buffalo. The Knighthawks have a total of seven picks in the draft, which include both the first and second overall selections. After kicking off the draft with the back-to-back first-round picks, the Knighthawks will have the 18th overall pick in the second round before claiming the 28th and 34th picks in the third round. Rochester will be excluded from the fourth round and will complete their selections with the 47th and 57th picks in the fifth and sixth round, respectively.
The draft will consist of six rounds. The league's 11 member clubs will select players from the top NCAA and NAIA college lacrosse programs, as well as players from Canada's junior lacrosse system.
