
Knighthawks Pat O'Toole Wins NLL Weekly Award

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Knighthawks goalie Pat O'Toole was named the National Lacrosse League Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Knighthawks to a 10-5 opening night win over the Buffalo Bandits on January 9th.
O'Toole was stellar in goal making 42 saves to move just 222 away from breaking Dallas Eliuk's league saves record of 6,356. The Toronto native also limited Buffalo to one second-half goal and held the Bandits scoreless for the final 24:40 of the game. The win was the 98th of O'Toole's Knighthawks career, placing him two away from becoming the first Rochester goalie to reach the century mark.
The Knighthawks (1-0) will complete the tail end of a home-and-home series with the Buffalo Bandits (0-1) on Saturday, January 16th. The 7:30 p.m. contest at HSBC Arena will be broadcast live on The Zone 94.1 FM and thezone941.com. Rochester is attempting to open a season 2-0 for the first time since 2000. Fans can also watch the game live on the NLL Network.
