
Knighthawks Look To Rebound Against Chicago Saturday

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Knighthawks return home on Saturday, March 22nd to host the Chicago Shamrox at 7:35 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on WYSL 1040-AM, wysl1040.com and B2 Networks. The contest will also be televised live on Time Warner SportsNet Channel 26.
That night, the Knighthawks will host their Second Annual Teddy Bear Auction. Fans can bid on 27 stuffed animals created at Build-A-Bear Workshop® at Eastview Mall. Last year, the event raised nearly $4,500 for CURE. The first 10,000 fans will take home a team photo courtesy of Connors & Ferris. After the game, the Knighthawks will hold a Meet-and-Greet on the field for fans.
The Knighthawks (4-5) enter the game after dropping a 10-9 decision to the Edmonton Rush at Rexall Place last Saturday. Rochester has now lost two of its last three games and is currently in sixth place in the East Division. The Knighthawks will host the seventh-place Shamrox (1-7), who have lost their last five games and are 0-3 on the road this season.
The game is the second and final meeting between the two teams. In the first encounter, Rochester scored a season-high 18 goals in an 18-8 win at Sears Centre Arena on March 1st.
All-Star John Grant leads Rochester with 27 goals and 58 points in nine games. Grant ranks third in the NLL in goals and is tied for third in points. Grant, Shawn Williams, Scott Evans and Steve Toll represented the Knighthawks at the NLL All-Star Game on March 16th. Ed Comeau served as the head coach of the East, as they defeated the West 17-16 in overtime.
Chicago had one representative at the All-Star Game, defenseman Scott Self. Chicago enters the game in Rochester after losing 13-9 to the Minnesota Swarm on March 14th. Matt Roik, who was acquired from Philadelphia, made 47 saves in his Shamrox debut. This week, Chicago activated rookie Kevin Ross from Canisius College. Ross was the Shamrox first-round-selection (12th overall) in the 2007 NLL Entry Draft. In four seasons at Canisius, he recorded 126 goals and 185 assists.
After Saturday's game, the Knighthawks remain at home to host the first-place Philadelphia Wings on Saturday, March 29th at 8:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena. The game will be broadcast live on WYSL 1040-AM, wysl1040.com and B2 Networks. The contest will also be televised live on Time Warner SportsNet Channel 26. The first 2,500 fans will receive a bike poster from Kent Ridley Excavating.
