Klamath Falls Gems' 2013 Schedule Announced

Klamath Falls, Oregon: Tuesday, December 11, 2012: Fans will get their first look at the 2013 Klamath Falls Gems on Saturday night, June 1st against the expansion Medford Rogues. The 2013 schedule is finalized, and the West Coast League team will play more than 30 home games next summer at historic Kiger Stadium.

"You know the off-season excitement is starting to build when next season's schedule is finalized," Gems' General Manager Grant Wilson said. "Besides the excitement of actually seeing who and when we're going to play, we can really start developing our promotional schedule. The response from our fans and corporate sponsors has been overwhelming, and it's great to be able to give them this schedule. Now the process of filling promotional dates starts, and we'll have many announcements along the way."

The schedule features 27 league games, the Gems plan on adding an additional five non-league games against natural rivals. The Gems season begins Saturday, June 1, and concludes Sunday, August 11th. The best-of-three Divisional Play-Offs kick-off Tuesday, August 13, while the best-of-three Championship Series starts Saturday, August 17. The Gems will play Monday - Saturday games at 6:35 pm and Sunday games at 5:05 pm this year so families can get home at a decent hour

"We're planning a number of exciting promotional nights at the ballpark," added Wilson. The Klamath Falls Gems are members of the West Coast League, the Diamond Standard among summer college baseball. The eleven-team, professional style wood-bat league features pro prospects from major conferences across the country. More than 120 WCL alums played affiliated professional baseball last season, and 20 ex-WCL stars played in the Major Leagues last season.
