Philadelphia, PA, November 27, 2007 - The defending MISL Champion Philadelphia KiXX (2-4) defeated the California Cougars (2-3) on November 25 for the KIXX second win of the 2007-08 season. Former Cougar Aaron Susi scored two goals and recorded an assist against his old team. The game was the first of a home-and-home series, as the club will next host the Cougars on Friday, November 30. "Dance Team Calendar Night" kicks off at 7:05pm ET, the first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a 2008-09 Dance Team Calendar.

Philadelphia and California will face off for the second time this season on November 30. The game will be the second of a home-and-home series, with game time set for 7:05pm ET. The KiXX won five of the six games the two clubs played during the 2006-07 season. Aaron Susi, the KiXX current assist leader, is coming off a five-point, two-goal performance against his former team. Susi was acquired in the 2007 MISL Expansion Draft, first overall. The Cougars are led by forward Enrique Tovar, who has eight goals in five games thus far, tied for first in the MISL. Bernie Lilavois coaches the team, a player for half of last season before retiring to coach the club full time after the release of former coach Troy Dayak. 2006-07 All-MISL Second team goalkeeper Sanaldo has a record of 2-3 with a 11.67 PAA. Sanaldo was acquired from the Detroit Ignition during the offseason for expansion draft picks.

KiXX 14, Cougars 6 (11/25) - The defending MISL Champion Philadelphia KiXX (2-4) defeated the California Cougars (2-3), 14-6, at the Stockton Arena. Former Cougar forward Aaron Susi and midfielder Ptah Myers each recorded a game-high five points to lead Philadelphia to their second consecutive victory of the season. Susi notched a pair of two-point goals and one assist versus his former teammates, while Myers registered two consecutive goals including a two-pointer which proved to be the game winner at 2:23 of the fourth quarter. Susi deposited a pass from new teammate Peter Pappas into the back of the net at 11:41 to provide the visiting KiXX a 2-0 advantage after one full period of play. Midfielder Angel Rivillo extended Philadelphia's lead to four, 4-0, with his team-leading sixth goal of the season that rolled underneath Sanaldo at 4:53 of the second stanza; Susi recorded the assist on the play for his club-high sixth of the campaign. Just over a minute into the third frame (1:11), Susi notched his second two-point score of the evening to extend the visitor's advantage to six, 6-0, on an assist from Philadelphia native Pat Morris. California's Semir Mesanovic ended the host's scoring drought with a two-point score, 6-2, from former KiXX forward Chris Handsor at 6:13 of the period. A mere 71 seconds later (7:24), the Cougars cut their deficit to two, 6-4, as Enrique Tovar blasted a shot home into the top right corner. Myers went top shelf past Sanaldo to regain the club's two-goal advantage, 8-4, at 2:23 of the final quarter, but Kupono Low found the back of the net for California just seven seconds later to again make it a two-point game (8-6). With Nelson Santana serving as a sixth attacker for California, Myers sealed the KiXX victory with a three-point score from midfield at 13:49. Temple product Tony Donatelli provided additional breathing room with the team's second straight three-point goal, 14-6, at 14:28.
Peter Pappas Named Goalkeeper-of-the-Week
For his efforts against California, Peter Pappas was named Goalkeeper-of-the-Week for the second time this season, and second week in a row. Pappas stopped 12 of 15 shots in the KiXX second consecutive win of the season, giving up just six points. The reigning Goalkeeper-of-the-Year ranks third in the League with an 10.08 PAA and a .800 saves %. The honor is the 27th time Pappas has won the award over his 12-year career.
