KiXX To Call Liacouras Center Home

PHILADELPHIA, October 14, 2009 - The Philadelphia KiXX are relocating to the Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University for the 2009-10 season.

They will make their debut in their new home when they open the home portion of their 14th season on Saturday, January 9, when they face the Rockford Rampage at 7 p.m.

Season tickets are on sale now through the KiXX Executive offices, by phone at 1-888-888-KIXX (5499). Individual game tickets for all eight home games in the 2009-10 season at the Liacouras Center will go on sale mid November through ComcastTIX on line at ComcastTIX.com, by phone at 1-800-298-4200 or in person at the Liacouras Center box office.

"We are extremely excited to be playing our home games in the intimate Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University," said Jeff Rotwitt.

"The Liacouras Center is a beautiful facility with a high-level of customer service and incredible sightlines for indoor soccer."

The Liacouras Center is operated by Global Spectrum, the public assembly facility management subsidiary of Comcast-Spectacor, the Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment firm which owns among many entities the KiXX's former home, the Spectrum. The two-time champion KiXX relocated to the Liacouras Center as the Spectrum is set to close on Saturday, October 31, and will be replaced by a retail, restaurant and entertainment complex called Philly Live.

"On behalf of Temple University, we are thrilled that the KiXX will call the Liacouras Center their new home," said Global Spectrum's Fran Rodowicz, General Manager of the arena. "We look forward to working closely with the Kixx and creating new opportunities for their fans to enjoy indoor soccer at the Liacouras Center."

The League consists of five member clubs including the reigning Champion Baltimore Blast, La RaZa de Monterrey, Milwaukee Wave, Philadelphia KiXX and the Rockford (Illinois) Rampage.

The Kixx's 2009-10 regular season schedule features eight-home games and 12-road games. The season officially Kixx-off on Saturday, November 15 when the KiXX travel to Monterrey to face La Raza. The KiXX will play their first six contests on the road before making their Liacouras Center debut on January 9.

In addition to facing the Rampage in the home opener on Saturday, January 9, the KiXX home schedule also features match-ups with the Rampage on Saturday, January 23; the Milwaukee Wave on Saturday, February 6; the La Raza on Saturday, February 20; the Baltimore Blast on Sunday, February 28; La Raza on Sunday, March 7; the Rampage on Sunday, March 14; and the Blast on Sunday, March 21.

Head coach Don D'Ambra will return for his eighth full season as the team's coach.

Keeping with the KiXX tradition of affordable family entertainment, fans will be treated to various promotional giveaways, including team calendars, photos, and T-shirts. The KiXX will also host specialty theme nights, including Dollar Dog Night, Girl and Boy Scout Nights, Mascot and an Alumni Game, plus a post-game jersey auction to benefit the Children's Miracle Network at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

KiXX Family PaXX, including four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas start at just $69. College students can attend a match for $10. Youth tickets for those under age 14 are just $15. Soccer clubs can also purchase group tickets for the opportunity to play on the turf prior to KIXX games.
