Detroit Ignition News Release

(Southfield, Mich., February 25, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition (13-9) moved to within one-half game of first-place with a 22-12 victory over the League's top team, the Philadelphia KiXX (13-8), in front of a sellout crowd of 3,746 at Compuware Sports Arena in Plymouth, MI. The game-winning goal, a two-pointer, was registered by defender Droo Callahan at the 2:19 mark of the final quarter of play. Callahan put up his biggest offensive numbers of the season as the Eastern Michigan University graduate tallied three two-point goals to lead the first-year club to victory. The win moved the Ignition into sole possession of second place in the League standings as the team looks to next weekend for a home-and-home series against the Milwaukee Wave. Detroit will host the first half of the series on Friday, March 2 at Compuware Sports Arena. Game time is slated for 7:35 pm ET.

Detroit started the night's scoring with the only goal in the opening frame of play, a two-pointer, by forward Mike Apple with an assist coming from rookie target Mauricio Salles to put the Ignition in front, 2-0, at 13:10.
