KiXX Set for Back-to-Back Contests after Holiday Break

Philadelphia, PA, November 26, 2003 -- The first place Philadelphia KiXX take to the road for their second set of back-to-back games this weekend, kicking-off with a battle versus the Comets in Kansas City on Friday, November 28. Game-time is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET at Kemper Arena. The club then travels west to San Diego, where they will battle the San Diego Sockers on Saturday, November 29. The contest is set for a 10:05 pm ET start time at the San Diego Sports Arena.

Philadelphia suffered its first home loss of the current campaign to the Kansas City Comets by a score of 11-9 on Saturday, November 15. KiXX forward Goran Vasic led all scorers with a career-high six assists in the contest, while newcomer Jamar Beasley led Kansas City with four points on three goals and one assist. Last season, Philadelphia won the 2002-03 season series versus the Comets, three-games-to-two, to mark the third consecutive year the KiXX have claimed the season series. Overall, the clubs have squared-off a total of 24 times with each team winning 12 games.

The KiXX defeated the San Diego Sockers, 5-2, in the team's 2003-04 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) season opener on Saturday, October 4 in San Diego. Team captain Kevin Sloan led the club with two goals, while Joel Shanker (one goal, one assist) and Goran Vasic (two assists) each chipped in with two points apiece. Mark Ughy recorded the only goals for San Diego, while offseason acquisition Sean Bowers added one assist. Last season marked the first meetings between San Diego and the KiXX, with the home team earning the victory in each of their four contests.
