Philadelphia KiXX News Release
Philadelphia, PA, February 14, 2008 - The defending Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Champion Philadelphia KiXX (10-12) look to rebound after a School Day loss to the Chicago Storm with the team's first road match in three weeks against the Detroit Ignition (12-7). The game will start at 7:35pm ET. The third-place Ignition are just a game out of first-place, while the KiXX hold onto the sixth seed. The top six teams in the nine-team MISL move onto the playoffs. The KiXX have just eight regular season games remaining. Philadelphia will be without the services of All-MISL keeper Peter Pappas, who suffered an eye injury in the KiXX home victory over Milwaukee on February 9.
The KiXX and Ignition met on February 2 in Philadelphia, a game that saw the KiXX score 15 points on one of the League's best defenses. Player/coach Don D'Ambra led the charge with four goals, becoming just the 15th player in MISL history to pass the 1,000 point mark in his career. Tony Donatelli also contributed a goal and four assists, three to D'Ambra.
Philadelphia will host the California Cougars on Saturday, February 23 at 7:05pm ET for the KiXX first ever Dollar Dog Night and the team's annual Children's Miracle Network post-game auction.
Philadelphia KiXX 6-PaXX mini-plans, birthday and family packages, and group outings are on sale now by calling the club's ticket office at 1-888-888-KiXX (5499). Single-game tickets are now available through the KiXX and the Wachovia Center Box Office, and online at www.comcasttix.com.
